Having problems with metabolic disorders, e.g. slow calving or milk fever at calving?

Slow Calving/Milk Fever is associated with calcium mobilisation issues at calving. The best approach is to first of all ensure your precalver mineral has sufficient magnesium and phosphorous levels, to allow the cow to mobilise her own calcium stores. Our precalver plus range are formulated to provide sufficient levels of magnesium and phosphorous to overcome issues at calving.

In instances where potassium levels are above normal limits in the silage, it may be necessary to supplement with Cal Mag in the close up period or, alternatively, supply extra Magnesium through Magnesium Chloride Flakes.
